[[#Verse 02.]]Ā When David finished offering burnt sacrifices and peace offerings, he pronounced a blessing over the people in theĀ Lordās name.Ā
[[#Verse 03.]]Ā He then handed out to each Israelite man and woman a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake.Ā
[[#Verse 04.]]Ā He appointed some of the Levites to serve before the ark of theĀ Lord, to offer prayers, songs of thanks, and hymns to theĀ LordĀ God of Israel.Ā
[[#Verse 05.]]Ā Asaph was the leader and Zechariah second-in-command, followed by Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They were to play stringed instruments, Asaph was to sound the cymbals,
[[#Verse 06.]]Ā and the priests Benaiah and Jahaziel were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of Godās covenant.

[[#Verse 09.]]Ā Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds.
[[#Verse 10.]]Ā Boast about his holy name. Let the hearts of those who seek theĀ LordĀ rejoice.
[[#Verse 11.]]Ā Seek theĀ LordĀ and the strength he gives. Seek his presenceĀ continually!
[[#Verse 12.]]Ā Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed,
[[#Verse 13.]]Ā O childrenĀ of Israel, GodāsĀ servant, you descendants of Jacob, GodāsĀ chosen ones!
[[#Verse 14.]]Ā He is theĀ LordĀ our God; he carries out judgment throughout the earth.
[[#Verse 15.]]Ā RememberĀ continually his covenantal decree, the promise he madeĀ to a thousand generationsā
[[#Verse 16.]]Ā the promiseĀ he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac!
[[#Verse 17.]]Ā He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise,
[[#Verse 18.]]Ā saying, āTo you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.ā
[[#Verse 19.]]Ā When they were few in number, just a very few, and foreign residents within it,
[[#Verse 20.]]Ā they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another.
[[#Verse 21.]]Ā He let no one oppress them; he disciplined kings for their sake,
[[#Verse 22.]]Ā saying,Ā āDonāt touch my anointed ones! Donāt harm my prophets!ā
[[#Verse 23.]]Ā Sing to theĀ Lord, all the earth! Announce every dayĀ how he delivers.
[[#Verse 24.]]Ā Tell the nations about his splendor, tellĀ all the nations about his miraculous deeds.
[[#Verse 25.]]Ā For theĀ LordĀ is great and certainly worthy of praise, he is more awesome thanĀ all gods.
[[#Verse 26.]]Ā For all the gods of the nations are worthless, but theĀ LordĀ made the heavens.
[[#Verse 26.]]Ā Majestic splendor emanates from him, he is the source of strength and joy.
[[#Verse 28.]]Ā Ascribe to theĀ Lord, O families of the nations, ascribe to theĀ LordĀ splendor and strength!
[[#Verse 29.]]Ā Ascribe to theĀ LordĀ the splendor he deserves! Bring an offering and enter his presence! Worship theĀ LordĀ in holy attire!
[[#Verse 30.]]Ā Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is established, it cannot be moved.
[[#Verse 31.]]Ā Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the nations say,Ā āTheĀ LordĀ reigns!ā
[[#Verse 32.]]Ā Let the sea and everything in it shout! Let the fields and everything in them celebrate!
[[#Verse 33.]]Ā Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy before theĀ Lord, for he comes to judge the earth!
[[#Verse 34.]]Ā Give thanks to theĀ Lord, for he is good and his loyal love endures.
[[#Verse 35.]]Ā Say this prayer:Ā āDeliver us, O God who delivers us! Gather us! Rescue us from the nations! Then we will give thanksĀ to your holy name, and boast about your praiseworthy deeds.ā
[[#Verse 36.]]Ā May theĀ LordĀ God of Israel be praised, in the future and forevermore. Then all the people said, āWe agree!Ā Praise theĀ Lord.ā

[[#Verse 37.]]Ā DavidĀ left Asaph and his colleagues there before the ark of theĀ Lordās covenant to serve before the ark regularly and fulfill each dayās requirements,Ā
