Biblical Studies Press, 2005) #### For the music director, Jeduthun; a psalm of Asaph. [[#Verse 01.]] I will cry out to God and call for help. I will cry out to God and he will pay attention to me. [[#Verse 02.]] In my time of trouble I sought the Lord. I kept my hand raised in prayer throughout the night. I refused to be comforted. [[#Verse 03.]] I said, “I will remember God while I groan; I will think about him while my strength leaves me.” (Selah) [[#Verse 04.]] You held my eyelids open; I was troubled and could not speak. [[#Verse 05.]] I thought about the days of old, about ancient times. [[#Verse 06.]] I said, “During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening. [[#Verse 07.]] I asked, “Will the Lord reject me forever? Will he never again show me his favor? [[#Verse 08.]] Has his loyal love disappeared forever? Has his promise failed forever? [[#Verse 09.]] Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has his anger stifled his compassion?” (Selah) [[#Verse 10.]] Then I said, “I am sickened by the thought that the Most High might become inactive. [[#Verse 11.]] I will remember the works of the Lord. Yes, I will remember the amazing things you did long ago. [[#Verse 12.]] I will think about all you have done; I will reflect upon your deeds.” [[#Verse 13.]] O God, your deeds are extraordinary. What god can compare to our great God? [[#Verse 14.]] You are the God who does amazing things; you have revealed your strength among the nations. [[#Verse 15.]] You delivered your people by your strength— the children of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah) [[#Verse 16.]] The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and trembled. Yes, the depths of the sea shook with fear. [[#Verse 17.]] The clouds poured down rain; the skies thundered. Yes, your arrows flashed about. [[#Verse 18.]] Your thunderous voice was heard in the wind; the lightning bolts lit up the world. The earth trembled and shook. [[#Verse 19.]] You walked through the sea; you passed through the surging waters, but left no footprints. [[#Verse 20.]] You led your people like a flock of sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron. ## ==📖 Verse-by-Verse Commentary== ###### Overall. ###### Verse 01. ###### Verse 02. ###### Verse 03. ###### Verse 04. ###### Verse 05. ###### Verse 06. ###### Verse 07. ###### Verse 08. ###### Verse 09. ###### Verse 10. ###### Verse 11. ###### Verse 12. ###### Verse 13. ###### Verse 14. ###### Verse 15. ###### Verse 16. ###### Verse 17. ###### Verse 18. ###### Verse 19. ###### Verse 20. ###### Verse 21. ###### Verse 22. ###### Verse 23. ###### Verse 24. ###### Verse 25. ###### Verse 26. ###### Verse 27. ###### Verse 28. ###### Verse 29. ###### Verse 30. ###### Verse 31. ###### Verse 32. ###### Verse 33. ###### Verse 34. ###### Verse 35. ###### Verse 36. ###### Verse 37. ###### Verse 38. ###### Verse 39. ###### Verse 40. ###### Verse 41. ###### Verse 42. ###### Verse 43. ###### Verse 44. ###### Verse 45. ###### Verse 46. ###### Verse 47. ###### Verse 48. ###### Verse **4**9. ###### Verse 50. ## 🤔 Interesting Facts / Historical and Cultural Insights - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write down things that are not straight from commentary but interesting facts that ground the text in history. %% ## 🧠 Chapter Summary - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write a short paragraph (3–5 sentences) summarizing what happens in this chapter. - What is the main event or teaching? - How does this chapter fit the book’s overall story? - What stands out immediately?
