## š Scripture Text (NET)
(The NET Bible: New English Translation. Biblical Studies Press, 2005)
### Regulations for the Lampstand and the Table of Bread
[[#Verse 01.]]Ā TheĀ LordĀ spoke to Moses:Ā
[[#Verse 02.]]Ā āCommand the Israelites to bringĀ to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.Ā
[[#Verse 03.]]Ā Outside the special curtainĀ of the congregation in the Meeting Tent, AaronĀ must arrange it from evening until morning before theĀ LordĀ continually. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations.Ā
[[#Verse 04.]]Ā On the ceremonially pure lampstandĀ he must arrange the lamps before theĀ LordĀ continually.
[[#Verse 05.]]Ā āYou must take choice wheat flourĀ and bake twelve loaves;Ā there must be two-tenths of an ephah of flour inĀ each loaf,Ā
[[#Verse 06.]]Ā and you must set them in two rows, six in a row,Ā on the ceremonially pure table before theĀ Lord.
[[#Verse 07.]]Ā You must put pure frankincenseĀ on each row,Ā and it will become a memorial portionĀ for the bread, a giftĀ to theĀ Lord.Ā
[[#Verse 08.]]Ā Each Sabbath dayĀ AaronĀ must arrange it before theĀ LordĀ continually; this portionĀ is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.Ā
[[#Verse 09.]]Ā It will belong to Aaron and his sons, and they must eat it in a holy place because it is most holy to him, a perpetually-allotted portionĀ from the gifts of theĀ Lord.ā
### A Case of Blaspheming the Name
[[#Verse 10.]]Ā NowĀ an Israelite womanās son whose father was an Egyptian went out among the Israelites, and the Israelite womanās son and an Israelite manĀ had a fight in the camp.Ā
[[#Verse 11.]] The Israelite womanās son misused the Name and cursed,Ā so they brought him to Moses. (Now his motherās name was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)Ā
[[#Verse 12.]]Ā So they placed him in custody until they were ableĀ to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of theĀ Lord.
[[#Verse 13.]]Ā Then theĀ LordĀ spoke to Moses:Ā
[[#Verse 14.]]Ā āBring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death.Ā
[[#Verse 15.]]Ā Moreover,Ā you are to tell the Israelites, āIf any man curses his GodĀ he will bear responsibility for his sin,Ā
[[#Verse 16.]]Ā and one who misusesĀ the name of theĀ LordĀ must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a resident foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death.
[[#Verse 17.]]Ā āāIf a man beats any person to death,Ā he must be put to death.Ā
[[#Verse 18.]]Ā One who beats an animal to deathĀ must make restitution for it, life for life.
[[#Verse 19.]]Ā If a man inflicts an injury onĀ his fellow citizen,Ā just as he has done it must be done to himā
[[#Verse 20.]]Ā fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for toothājust as he inflicts an injury on another personĀ that same injuryĀ must be inflicted on him.
[[#Verse 21.]]Ā One who beats an animal to deathĀ must make restitution for it, butĀ one who beats a person to death must be put to death.Ā
[[#Verse 22.]]Ā There will be one regulationĀ for you, whether a resident foreignerĀ or a native citizen, for I am theĀ LordĀ your God.āā
[[#Verse 23.]]Ā Then Moses spoke to the Israelites and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. So the Israelites did just as theĀ LordĀ had commanded Moses.
