Biblical Studies Press, 2005) ### Vision Four: The Priest [[#Verse 01.]]Ā Next I saw Joshua the high priestĀ standing before the angel of theĀ Lord, with SatanĀ standing at his right hand to accuse him.Ā  [[#Verse 02.]]Ā TheĀ LordĀ said to Satan, ā€œMay theĀ LordĀ rebuke you, Satan! May theĀ Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Isn’t this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?ā€Ā  [[#Verse 03.]]Ā Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothesĀ as he stood there before the angel.Ā  [[#Verse 04.]]Ā The angelĀ spoke up to those standing all around, ā€œRemove his filthy clothes.ā€ Then he said to Joshua,Ā ā€œI have freely forgiven your iniquity and will dress youĀ in fine clothing.ā€Ā  [[#Verse 05.]]Ā Then I spoke up, ā€œLet a clean turban be put on his head.ā€ So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of theĀ LordĀ stood nearby.Ā  [[#Verse 06.]]Ā Then the angel of theĀ LordĀ exhorted Joshua solemnly:Ā  [[#Verse 07.]]Ā ā€œTheĀ LordĀ of Heaven’s Armies says, ā€˜If you followĀ my ways and keep my requirements, you will be able to preside over my templeĀ and attend to my courtyards, and I will allow you to come and go among these others who are standing by you.Ā  [[#Verse 08.]]Ā Listen now, Joshua the high priest, both you and your colleagues who are sitting before you, all of youĀ are a symbol that I am about to introduce my servant, the Branch.Ā  [[#Verse 09.]]Ā As for the stoneĀ I have set before Joshua—on the one stone there are seven eyes.Ā I am about to engrave an inscription on it,’ says theĀ LordĀ of Heaven’s Armies, ā€˜to the effect that I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.Ā  [[#Verse 10.]]Ā In that day,’ says theĀ LordĀ of Heaven’s Armies, ā€˜everyone will invite his friend to fellowship under his vine and under his fig tree.ā€™ā€ ## ==šŸ“– Verse-by-Verse Commentary== ###### Overall. ###### Verse 01. ###### Verse 02. ###### Verse 03. ###### Verse 04. ###### Verse 05. ###### Verse 06. ###### Verse 07. ###### Verse 08. ###### Verse 09. ###### Verse 10. ## šŸ¤” Interesting Facts / Historical and Cultural Insights - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write down things that are not straight from commentary but interesting facts that ground the text in history. %% ## 🧠 Chapter Summary - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write a short paragraph (3–5 sentences) summarizing what happens in this chapter. - What is the main event or teaching? - How does this chapter fit the book’s overall story? - What stands out immediately?
