(The NET Bible: New English Translation. Biblical Studies Press, 2005)
### Vision Four: The Priest
3Ā Next I saw Joshua the high priestĀ standing before the angel of theĀ Lord, with SatanĀ standing at his right hand to accuse him.Ā 2Ā TheĀ LordĀ said to Satan, āMay theĀ LordĀ rebuke you, Satan! May theĀ Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Isnāt this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?āĀ 3Ā Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothesĀ as he stood there before the angel.Ā 4Ā The angelĀ spoke up to those standing all around, āRemove his filthy clothes.ā Then he said to Joshua,Ā āI have freely forgiven your iniquity and will dress youĀ in fine clothing.āĀ 5Ā Then I spoke up, āLet a clean turban be put on his head.ā So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of theĀ LordĀ stood nearby.Ā 6Ā Then the angel of theĀ LordĀ exhorted Joshua solemnly:Ā 7Ā āTheĀ LordĀ of Heavenās Armies says, āIf you followĀ my ways and keep my requirements, you will be able to preside over my templeĀ and attend to my courtyards, and I will allow you to come and go among these others who are standing by you.Ā 8Ā Listen now, Joshua the high priest, both you and your colleagues who are sitting before you, all of youĀ are a symbol that I am about to introduce my servant, the Branch.Ā 9Ā As for the stoneĀ I have set before Joshuaāon the one stone there are seven eyes.Ā I am about to engrave an inscription on it,ā says theĀ LordĀ of Heavenās Armies, āto the effect that I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.Ā 10Ā In that day,ā says theĀ LordĀ of Heavenās Armies, āeveryone will invite his friend to fellowship under his vine and under his fig tree.āā
