He appeared in splendorĀ from Mount Paran, and came forth with ten thousand holy ones. With his right hand he gave a fiery lawĀ to them. [[#Verse 03.]]Ā Surely he loves the people; all your holy onesĀ are in your power. And they sitĀ at your feet, each receivingĀ your words. [[#Verse 04.]]Ā Moses delivered to us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob. [[#Verse 05.]]Ā TheĀ LordĀ was king over Jeshurun, when the leaders of the people assembled, the tribes of Israel together. ### Blessing on Reuben [[#Verse 06.]]Ā ā€œMay Reuben live and not die, and may his people multiply.ā€ ### Blessing on Judah [[#Verse 07.]]Ā And this is the blessingĀ to Judah. He said, ā€œListen, OĀ Lord, to Judah’s voice, and bring him to his people. May his power be great, and may you help him against his foes.ā€ ### Blessing on Levi [[#Verse 08.]]Ā Of Levi he said: ā€œYour Thummim and UrimĀ belong to your godly one, whose authority you challenged at Massah, and with whom you argued at the waters of Meribah. [[#Verse 09.]]Ā He said to his father and mother, ā€˜I have not seen him,’ and he did not acknowledge his own brothers or know his own children, for they kept your word, and guarded your covenant. [[#Verse 10.]]Ā They will teach Jacob your ordinances and Israel your law; they will offer incense as a pleasant odor, and a whole offering on your altar. [[#Verse 11.]]Ā Bless, OĀ Lord, his goods, and be pleased with his efforts; undercut the legsĀ of any who attack him, and of those who hate him, so that they cannot stand.ā€ ### Blessing on Benjamin [[#Verse 12.]]Ā Of Benjamin he said: ā€œThe beloved of theĀ LordĀ will live safely by him; he protects him all the time, and theĀ LordĀ places him on his chest.ā€ ### Blessing on Joseph [[#Verse 13.]]Ā Of Joseph he said: ā€œMay theĀ LordĀ bless his land with the harvest produced by the sky,Ā by the dew, and by the depths crouching beneath; [[#Verse 14.]]Ā with the harvest produced by the daylight and byĀ the moonlight; [[#Verse 15.]]Ā with the bestĀ of the ancient mountains and the harvest produced by the age-old hills; [[#Verse 16.]]Ā with the harvest of the earth and its fullness and the pleasure of him who resided in the burning bush. May blessing rest on Joseph’s head, and on the top of the head of the one set apartĀ from his brothers. [[#Verse 17.]]Ā May the firstborn of his bull bring him honor, and may his horns be those of a wild ox; with them may he gore all peoples, all the far reaches of the earth. They are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.ā€ ### Blessing on Zebulun and Issachar [[#Verse 18.]]Ā Of Zebulun he said: ā€œRejoice, Zebulun, when you go outside, and Issachar, when you are in your tents. Like a lioness he will dwell; he will tear at an arm—indeed, a scalp. [[#Verse 21.]]Ā He has selected the best part for himself, for the portion of the rulerĀ is set asideĀ there; he came with the leadersĀ of the people, he obeyed the righteous laws of theĀ Lord and his ordinances with Israel.ā€ ### Blessing on Dan [[#Verse 22.]]Ā Of Dan he said: ā€œDan is a lion’s cub; he will leap forth from Bashan.ā€ ### Blessing on Naphtali [[#Verse 23.]]Ā Of Naphtali he said: ā€œO Naphtali, overflowing with favor, and full of theĀ Lord’s blessing, possess the west and south.ā€ ### Blessing on Asher [[#Verse 24.]]Ā Of Asher he said: ā€œAsher is blessed with children; may he be favored by his brothers, and may he dip his foot in olive oil. [[#Verse 25.]]Ā The bars of your gatesĀ will be made of iron and bronze, and may you have lifelong strength.ā€ ### General Praise and Blessing [[#Verse 26.]]Ā ā€œThere is no one like God, O Jeshurun, who rides through the skyĀ to help you, on the clouds in majesty. [[#Verse 27.]]Ā The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms; he has driven out enemies before you, and has said, ā€œDestroy!ā€ [[#Verse 28.]]Ā Israel lives in safety, the fountain of Jacob is quite secure, in a land of grain and new wine; indeed, its heavensĀ rain down dew. [[#Verse 29.]]Ā You have joy, Israel! Who is like you? You are a people delivered by theĀ Lord, your protective shield and your exalted sword. May your enemies cringe before you; may you trample on their backs.ā€ ## ==šŸ“– Verse-by-Verse Commentary== ###### Overall. ###### Verse 01. ###### Verse 02. ###### Verse 03. ###### Verse 04. ###### Verse 05. ###### Verse 06. ###### Verse 07. ###### Verse 08. ###### Verse 09. ###### Verse 10. ###### Verse 11. ###### Verse 12. ###### Verse 13. ###### Verse 14. ###### Verse 15. ###### Verse 16. ###### Verse 17. ###### Verse 18. ###### Verse 19. ###### Verse 20. ###### Verse 21. ###### Verse 22. ###### Verse 23. ###### Verse 24. ###### Verse 25. ###### Verse 26. ###### Verse 27. ###### Verse 28. ###### Verse 29. ## šŸ¤” Interesting Facts / Historical and Cultural Insights - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write down things that are not straight from commentary but interesting facts that ground the text in history. %% ## 🧠 Chapter Summary - coming soon. %% PRIVATE NOTES (only I see this) Write a short paragraph (3–5 sentences) summarizing what happens in this chapter. - What is the main event or teaching? - How does this chapter fit the book’s overall story? - What stands out immediately?
