## đź“… Outline of Book
**I. Introduction and Greeting (Jude 1–2)**
- Jude identifies himself as a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James.
- Addresses the letter to those “called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.”
- A blessing of mercy, peace, and love is pronounced.
**II. Purpose for Writing (Jude 3–4)**
- Jude originally intended to write about salvation, but found it necessary to urge believers to contend for the faith.
- Warns that certain people have crept in unnoticed—ungodly people who pervert grace and deny Jesus Christ.
**III. Historical Warnings Against Apostasy (Jude 5–7)**
- Three examples of judgment:
1. Israel—delivered from Egypt but later destroyed due to unbelief.
2. Angels—who did not stay within their proper domain.
3. Sodom and Gomorrah—given to immorality and strange flesh.
**IV. Characteristics of False Teachers (Jude 8–13)**
- Defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme.
- Even Michael the archangel did not blaspheme Satan but appealed to the Lord.
- False teachers are likened to:
- Cain (murder)
- Balaam (greed)
- Korah (rebellion)
- They are described as:
- Hidden reefs at love feasts
- Waterless clouds
- Fruitless trees
- Wild waves
- Wandering stars
**V. Judgment Upon the Ungodly (Jude 14–16)**
- Cites prophecy from Enoch, stating the Lord is coming with thousands to judge.
- Describes false teachers as:
- Grumblers
- Malcontents
- Boastful
- Manipulative for personal gain
**VI. Call to Perseverance and Spiritual Vigilance (Jude 17–23)**
- Reminds believers of the apostles’ warning: mockers will come.
- Instructions to believers:
- Build yourselves up in the faith.
- Pray in the Holy Spirit.
- Keep yourselves in the love of God.
- Wait for the mercy of Christ.
- How to deal with others:
- Show mercy to those who doubt.
- Save others by snatching them from fire.
- Show mercy with caution toward sin.
**VII. Doxology and Benediction (Jude 24–25)**
- A powerful doxology:
- God is able to keep you from stumbling and present you blameless.
- To Him be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, now and forever.
