I have been feeling that one of the “WORDS” God is speaking over my life in this season is to not be afraid to STAND for God’s Word and the things of God.
I don’t know if that is to stand before Christ followers or non Christ followers. I think it is both, saying, “This is what God’s Word says.”
I don’t want it nor do I feel naturally gifted to do it. This seems something more suited for an Enneagram 8 or 1 but... here we are.
God’s Word says in Numbers 3...
““Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister to him. They shall keep guard over him and over the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, as they minister at the tabernacle. They shall guard all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, and keep guard over the people of Israel as they minister at the tabernacle. And you shall give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the people of Israel. And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall guard their priesthood. But if any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death.” And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the people of Israel instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the people of Israel. The Levites shall be mine,”
Numbers 3:6-12 ESV
This is saying that the Levites, those called from among the tribes to give their lives to the work of ministry were to be **_guardians_**.
Guard...
* Those who minister. (Aaron and his sons)
* Stick up for them.
* Watch over them.
* Protect them as they do the work of ministry so they can do so without having to look over their shoulders.
* The people as they worship.
* So they can worship with peace and confidence.
* The house of God.
* So it does not fall into disrepair.
* So it is not vulnerable.
* So it is strong and considered a place of peace.
