<https://youtu.be/yFyV20Ve8Cg> **_Notes_**: **_Primary use of tongues. Is Acts 2 the same as 1 Cor 14?_** Acts 2- they were speaking in different languages. They were not evangelizing people. The Bible says they were worshiping God. However, it was a sign to unbelievers cause they heard the interpretation. Paul says “various kinds of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 14:2- Paul says there is a tongue that’s not to men but to God. (Acts 2 was to men) Therefore, Acts 2 is not the only way tongues works. The two different places are not talking about the same kind of tongues. What happened in Acts 2 still happens today. He’s saying it’s not the only way it happens today. He said there are historical documentation of people speaking in unknown tongues in the first 400 to 500 years after Jesus. After that, almost all spiritual gifts stopped because of the rise of the Roman Catholic Church.
